Weight and chain windows
Toward the end of the nineteenth century, weight and chain windows were found in prestigious residences throughout the US. Easy to use, with a simple, timeless design, these windows were considered to be a marvel of modern engineering. Today, they’ve been updated by Lepage to lend a touch of nostalgia to contemporary homes. A number of modern features have been added, including concealed weather-stripping and chain pulleys. For improved energy-efficiency, the balance housing is now insulated and incorporated in the frame. True to tradition, the wood pieces of these weight and chain windows have been meticulously cut to offer lasting beauty and performance.
